GOOD NEWS AMBASSADOR MISSION PROGRAM:
GNA
(Program Bantuan Kewangan Bagi Tujuan Pendidikan untuk Pastor-Pasor)
"GOOD NEWS AMBASSADOR (GNA) MISSION"
The role of a pastor is not a popular occupation among the general public, especially within the Christian community itself. Secular jobs are prioritized as they logically contribute to one's livelihood. If the life stories of every pastor in Sabah were gathered, each would have a different background, life journey, and unique challenges. However, one common aspect they would mention is their "calling."
Every pastor has a unique experience of how and when they received this "calling." Some are called after working for years in secular sectors, while others feel called from their teenage years and decide to pursue theological studies. There are also those who come from different faiths and choose to become pastors after transformative life experiences. With diverse backgrounds, their ability to pursue their "calling" varies, particularly in terms of finances.
THE GOOD NEWS AMBASSADOR MISSION
The Good News Ambassador Mission aims to assist those who desire to study or continue their education in the field of theology but lack the means to do so. Most of them are full-time workers who rely solely on allowances provided by the churches they serve. If they have families, their financial priorities naturally revolve around their children's needs.
MEF is concerned about pastors who feel called to pursue education but lack the financial means. Therefore, MEF targets sponsoring 10 pastors per year. The sponsorship is aimed at pastors who wish to pursue education in theological schools and have a household income of less than RM3,000 or fall within the B40 category (B1 and B2 groups).
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
Eligible applicants are required to fill out an application form provided by MEF and submit supporting documents such as copies of their identification cards and, if married, copies of their spouse's identification card. They also need to provide a copy of the offer letter from the theological institution and a semester fee schedule. Additionally, they must include a letter stating their introduction, reasons for seeking financial assistance, and the total amount of financial aid required, accompanied by their signature.
Completed application forms and verified supporting documents should be submitted to the MEF office for processing by the management. MEF prioritizes applicants who genuinely meet the established criteria.
Successful applicants will be contacted by MEF for the subsequent process of aid distribution. The GNA Mission provides one-time assistance only.
